Do you think this is weird

About 6 yrs ago, before my Grandma passed away (2 yrs ago), we had a look at our houses on google street maps (as you do, we don't get out much).

We discovered that, when we looked on Grandma's little street, there she was on the image, tending to her garden.

I took a screen shot as it just summed her up perfectly, always in the garden. Anyway, cue a new computer and back up drives etc, I couldn't find the photos. I've since discovered a new thing on google street maps that you can go back in time to old photos of the same area...and low and behold, there she is in the photos.

Do you think this is weird, or am I just lucky to have such a photo of her doing what she loved?

I am so pleased I discovered I could do this.

Its like peering into the past. Feel a bit reassured that I'm not that weird.

Well the DM have taken it from an actual interview with a local paper

How do you get the older street view pictures?

Goingtobeawesome · 26/07/2017 13:12

Is that you on mail on line?

flimflaminurjams · 26/07/2017 14:21

No its not me - just seen it on MSN! For a second I thought they had used MN for their "journalism" again.

Pesto on google maps, select a place you want to look at. Use the little peg man to go to street level.

There is a dark grey box, with the location in. In the bottom of the box there is a date of when the image was taken. If there is a little clock symbol next to it, you can select it and it will show you dates when the same area was photographed by google maps. You can then toggle which date to show.
