...I cant stop crying, have spent all afternoon with her and she is a husk of her former self. They have said she will be gone by tommorow

Nothing changed as yet. Someone phoned at 8am this morning of course caused much panicking etc but think it was just a cold caller.

My nan died last year aged 100. My ds said things similar to your son like 'now she can play with the aliens'. He thinks heaven is the same as space. Its all in the sky to him.

Nemo, i am so sorry to hear this babe. I remember the night i left my mum knowing she wouldnt make it through the night. Light a candle and keep it burning. Its at times like this you have to be strong and believe that where your nan is going to is a far better place. She will never leave you, i know my mum is with us and probably knows DD very well. Sending you strength, love and ((cuddles))

Oh Nemo (((((hugs)))), my nan is also like a mum to me a reading your post has really brought things home to me that she won't be here forever Please look after yourself and your dc's, at least they are too young to fully understand, sometimes I envy the simplicity of the lo's
