So sorry to hear about this Sweetbean. I can't give you any help as I've not been through this but hope someone else does. Good luck for tomorrow.

Im sorry to hear your news. Its not all bad news though, a very high % of women have bleeding in the early stages of pg and go on to have healthy babies.

I have had 2 mc, and you really do need the support of your dh. My dh is wonderful but when it came to this he just carried on as normal. I dont think men can understand how emotional it is so make sure you tell him what you need and support each other. your dh might just be scared and upset but he really needs to step up to the mark now.

If you have a scan it will probably be an internal one, its really not as bad as it sounds. What they see at this early stage will decide what happens next ie if it is inconclusive you might have to wait a week and have another scan.

Good luck with it and come back and tell us how it went.

really sorry...but there is hope still, wait for the scan....can you take a friend with you for moral support?

lissielou · 05/03/2007 16:24

right, first, im so sorry that you are going thru this. like KezzaG ive had bleeding from 5w-20w and healthy 9lb2 ds, but also 3mcs at between 6-9w and 1 ep removed at 6w. you will have an internal scan, they will (TMI alert) put a probe about the same size and shape as your dp's winkie inside. it will be uncomfortable but not painful. at 5w its touch and go as to whether they will see anything. they will also do a pg test. if they cant see anything and you get a bfn then you will prob have mc'ed. if you get a bfp and they cant see anything then they will rescan in 10-14 days. or best case they will see a sack and you will be rescaned in ten days.

Good luck...what time is your scan?

hard to tell, ust try not to panic until you see the docs. i had two m/c, one i did not bleed until 4 weeks later (missed). i also bled from 7 to 15 weeks with my most recent pregnancy and am now a proud mum of a week old today baby. so i would say 50/50 either way. it may be implantation bleeding. is it clotty and red?
abouy the dp, mine was the same. when i had a particular heavy bleed one time my dp went to a music festival and left me home alone.some men find it hard and are afraid of saying the wrong thing so try to stay away in fear of making it worse. you will find that one day he wil talk about it and u will relise he was ust as affected by it.

Thanks for all the support it really meens a lot to me !!
As for the bleeding in is bright red and a littel bit watery if that makes sence ? i have only passed 2 clots one the size of a 5p and another half that size.the bleeding started on saturday and was bad saturday night but has been getting better since then and is not that bad today but still there though.I really hope that all is well but am scarerd that if i don't miscarry now, that there might be something wrong with the baby that is picked up on in later scan.

Everyone I saw when I was bleeding - gp, A%E etc all said that there is no evidence that the baby will be affected by the bleeding if it isnt a mc so try not to worry about that.

there is a thread at the moment for people awaiting second scan or expeirencing problems in their early pg, here is the link. Depending on the outcome tomorrow you might find a lot of useful advice and support here too.
