My lovely lovely friend

It would have been her birthday this weekend. She passed away 4 years ago. I rarely post on here and certainly not about this. I miss her a lot, but I know that's my gig not hers.
Ah well, not sure what response I am looking for, more just to share how bloody ace she was xx

Yes, I am. They are great, but I don't see a lot of them.

Must be careful not to out either of us, but we worked together, a long time ago.

Maybe you can gain some comfort from each other this weekend. Do something lovely together (or separately) to remember your lovely friend?

lovesxmas I lost my Nan in October and she was my bestest friend in the whole wide world.

It's so fucking shit. I'm having happy moments that are bittersweet because my best friend is not here but to celebrate how special my Nan is(was) I'm going to have a star named after her.

Colleagues that go on to become friends are the best! There's something really special about sharing the good times and the bad, day in and day out. My ex-colleagues have kept me sane during difficult times and some have stayed very close friends. Hope it's a comfort to you to meet up with your friend's family this weekend. It must be nice for them to know that she is remembered. x

You are spot on. Her family love that we remember her all the time. Argh, why do these things happen? If she was here right now, we'd be mischiefing somewhere. (Mischiefing, is that a word?)

My Nan was the best.

Strong, funny, proud and the one person who I knew always, always put me first.
She couldn't really leave her house on her own but when I got sad cos my family never came to see me (still don't), she'd say, right, there must be a bus, I'm coming. I'm on my way.

At my brother's wedding in August, I took her to her room for a nap and said, ooh Nan, Stephen is my best friend, he's lovely (he's my best gay mate) she coughed and said, excuse me, WHO'S your best friend??!!
I said, Sorry Nan, after you, he's my best mate.
