My lovely Dad

I am sitting with my Dad and he is dying. He has dementia and probably won't make it through the night.

My Mums heart is broken. My DB, DSis and I will have lost our cornerstone, our hero and a friend.

Without fail people remember his integrity, gentleness and wisdom. He is a true English gentleman in the very best sense.

Please could you help me find quotes and poems - I cannot find the words

I Have written this to say

My Dad,
My place of stillness
The backbone of my life

The strict and the soft
The laughter and the tears

My Google, and my Ying Tong Song
My forever there, and silent side

My life full of memories,
My defender and comforter

My example and my reason
My explainer of tragedy

My tears and my grief
My holding on

My goodbye, my farewell
My pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow

Till we meet again Poppa
I will hold you in my heart.

That is lovely Shosha. May he have peace now. He will know he was loved and you by him.

Shosha - my Dads went well, I hope yours did too. I was, as always, proud to be his daughter. The vicar forgot to ask my brother, sister and I up to speak, so we did our speeches at the wake. The tributes and kind words were lovely. I miss him so much but wouldn't wish him back to the hell of dementia.
