Books on grief for children

[Fretful]

My brother has died. He was found today but may have died anytime between Saturday night and this afternoon. He was 38 and an alcoholic.

Having said that, the main point of this message is to ask if you know of any good books about grief for young children? My DDs are 7 and 4, and they knew their uncle was ill but obviously don't fully understand the ins and outs of it all.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated, thank you.

Sorry for your loss. When my dad died I read the dcs Guess how much I love you. It has a bit about how the stars died a long time ago and still give out light-it's a nice analogy that kids can understand

Sorry for your loss-'badgers parting gifts' I think is supposed to be good.

Thank you. I've got badger's parting gifts, got it when their great gran died, but it talks about an old person specifically which my brother clearly wasn't. I haven't heard of Winston's Wish, will look them up. Will also get Guess How Much I love You.

Michael Rosen's Sad Book. He wrote it after the death of his son but it talks about feelings rather than specifics

I would recommend Michael Rosens Sad Book as well.

My DD10 found it a bit babyish but it got the point across nonetheless.

I have lots of recommendations for books about bereavement when it is grandparents who have died which helped when my MIL died when my DC were 4 and 1 (circle of life and all that). Much harder to explain DH's sister who died young - we have done a lot of talking more than reading books.
