dd3 (9) 's teacher (one of them) died in car accident last weekend.. dd very sad,

it seems she (teacher) fell asleep at the wheel. Only 26 years old. DD is ok but tearful at times. This teacher was not her full time one but a dietician who spent all last year teaching them about nutrition and planting a herb garden with them... So sad isn't it?

Have tried to emphasise, any other ideas of now to help dd? I never met the teacher.

Don't really know what to say, other than to let your dd talk about it. It is such shocking news for everyone who knew the teacher to come to terms with.

Do you know what has been said at school?

Difficult isn't it for a 9 year old? I know her class teacher has talked about it.. which can only be good. Though this is a new teacher so I really don't know how good she is. I do feel that if the rest of the class is like my DD, they will need to do something, have a memorial service, something. I suggested to DD planting a tree where the herb garden is. She loved that idea.... it was the only thing that took her mind off this terrible accident.
