Is it normal for a coronor to write to someone to ask them what they want to do with the parts removed from a body?

And is this normal to do it just 6 days after the person dies? Surely they must know that the person hasn't even been buried yet? The letter lists what has been removed ggs!

They have to ask because some people will want the parts put back, to bury with the body. Other people may want parts left to medical research.

Yes, it's normal, they did this with my DM, you can either have tissue samples back, they destroy them or they can be used for research.

It just seems so callous! Yes, the woman knows that parts where going to be removed for testing, but to see it in writing, before she's even buried him! Now it's in writing that he's not bing buried whole, even if in her heart she knows it. Do you see what I mean?

Oh OK. If it's normal, then so be it. It's a tough time, but I understand that.
