Oh darling.

I've not had a pc for a few weeks and I'm just catching up. I've read through the other threads and watched your montage of your darling girls. I'm sorry but I'm pouring with tears because of what you've been through. Words seem inadequate.

I'm glad the church was bulging today, that is a monumental show of support and respect. I hope when these next few days and weeks pass you can find ongoing support here and will share with us whatever you need to. Your darling girls will keep you strong and we're here for all the rest.

For now, I wish you strength for the days and peace for the nights. "A thing of beauty is a joy forever, its loveliness increases but it will never pass into nothingness". Love to you all xxx.

Gillian76 · 22/08/2006 23:36

Hope you can draw some comfort from the support of all those people.

Wishing you strength for the days ahead xxx

HI YG. It was a lovely service. There was loads of people there. I am sorry I couldn't come afterwards to Bramley but we needed to get back for the girls. I will let you have the tag when we have written our note as we couldn't do it at the church.

Marina · 23/08/2006 00:06

300 people there in the flesh, so many more Mumsnetters all over the world continuing to think of you and praying for you, Nigel and your daughters Anna XXX

Glad so many people came to say goodbye.

As others have said we were all with you in spirit. I thought of you all day.

Please remember we are all here for you whenever - any hour of the day or night. I'm sure you feel you have to cope for the girls but remember you can come here and vent/reminisce or whatever.

FrannyandZooey · 23/08/2006 07:28

Yes, I think there were thousands in the church in spirit YG.

Hope you can find some comfort at this time.

Auntymandy · 23/08/2006 08:11

Thinking of you and your girls. Be strong for the rest of your life!
Words never sound how they are meant to!!
Nigel will want you to carry on living, it will be hard at times but go and live!
Never feel guilt or regret life is far too short for that,as you are only too aware.
Laugh lots,at him about him with him. You will have days when you will shout at him and days when you will hate him for leaving you,but you will always love him...........always. x

biglips · 23/08/2006 08:15

I'm glad that so many people came to remember and celebrate Nigel's life. There were even more people thinking of you out here on the ether. Take care of yourself and your girls. {{{hug}}}

What a good turnout. Must be some comfort to know how loved and respected he must have been, even outside the immediate family.

I hope you were able to say your goodbyes and have some peace yesterday.

FoghornLeghorn · 23/08/2006 08:25

I'm so glad so many people turned out to pay their respects, I'm sure in time both you and your daughters will find that some sort of comfort, to know how well liked and loved Nigel was.

How are things going generally ? Are you managing OK with everything ?

throckenholt · 23/08/2006 08:29

After my dad died is was amazing how many people we did not know - but he did - who stopped bby to say how much they missed him. It was one of the positive things about the whole situation - to know he had touched so many peoples lives.

It sounds like you are having a similar experience with your DH.

tigermoth · 23/08/2006 08:37

I hope you have some good memories of yesterday - one of the best things about my parents' funerals was hearing what other people had to say about them, new stories that I had never heard before (as piffle said). I hope the memories will help you through. I was thinking about you and your girls a lot.

AllieBongo · 23/08/2006 08:40

kind thoughts and best wishes to you and your girls. your dh was obviuosly a wonderful person

I thought about your and your family yesterday. Hope the days get easier for you, you are a strong woman imo.

You never really appreciate how precious life is until something happens. I mentioned you to dh yesterday, your sad news touched me.
