Lost for words - card for funeral flowers

I have to write a card tonight for my brother in law. I just don't know what to write. Nothing religious or flowery. It all sounds so trite and wasn't him at all. I want to write 'Always in our hearts' but that is what we wrote on our eldest daughter's and somehow that is hers. Something short and sweet but I just can't think. Google is not helping as he would hate everything that I am finding.

Any ideas? I can't believe I am having to do this, it is all so unfair.

We miss you.
Much loved by, (your family names)
For BIL, all our love (family names)

Sorry I'm probably not much help, everything sounds trite when it isn't your grief ifyswim.

Flowers I'm sorry for your loss.

Thanks Lottidoubtie, that is helpful. More along the lines of the type of thing I would like to write. Thanks

Fondly remembered, sadly missed.
We will always smile when we think of you.
Never far from our thoughts.

Sorry for your loss.

How about 'You will always be in our thoughts', 'We will miss you', or depending on the circumstances 'I am glad you are now at peace'.

To be honest when my mum died I didn't really know what to put on the card for the flowers as nothing seemed 'right' or really expressed what I wanted to say so I know how hard it can be to get those few words to sound right.

Or.... Always remembered with love and laughter. Or any other sentiment that represents him as a person and your relationship.
