Please sdvise - EPRC post-op pain & infection

Hi there, had an ERPC nearly 4 weeks ago following a missed miscarriage recognised at 9 weeks. Was given a course of ABs after the op & felt relatively ok and bled for a couple of days as pre-warned. Around 2 weeks ago starting getting pains again which worsened so went to the doc & was prescribed some antibiotics. A week later, today, I went back to the docs as still experiencing pain. Was given an internal examination and some stronger pain killers. She has also referred me for a TVS scan (not sure what this is?).
Following my visit to docs earlier have now started bleeding and pain has worsened. Not sure if I am on a period and infection is under control or whether this is not the case and there is a problem. I would really welcome any thought or advice anyone had.
My missed miscarriage was diagnosed in mid-May and this has all been dragging on since then. Throughly fed up with it all now - just want things to go back to normal.

TVS is trans vaginal scan, an internal scan so to speak, it can locate more accurately things that cannot be seen on an external ultrasound.
If the pain is wosrse than normal AF cramping after this time, it could possibly be that the ERPC has not been complete
this happened to a friend of mine recently too.

Had her 12 wk scan, found baby had died at about 9 weeks. They said to go home and see if it happened on its own, if not to come back in two weeks for an ERPC, which she did.
Had that and then continued problems much like you, bleeding heavy then nothing, pain.
Had several scans and eventually they said they needed to do another ERPC
Now she is fine, but it dragged on like you say for so long.

Thanks again - I honestly didn't realise that this sort of thing happened you know? I imagined that after the op that would be it, done and dusted, but looking at other messages posted so many women seem to experience problems...lets hope the next lot of ABs clear everything up.

I have had one at 6 wks another at 9 weeks and a ruptured ectopic, so totally know where you are coming from
It's horrible and I esp feel for people going through ti for the first time as its sucha loss of trust in what you think your body is just able to do naturally.

Piffle, so sorry to hear that. You have been through a far far worse experience than I have - I really hope things will be good for you in the future. Life can be cruel sometimes but I'm hoping everything will work out grand for you in the end. Are you still able to conceive naturally?
Worried now that not everything was taken away in the first ERPC and that if there is a bad infection will cause lasting damage. Hopefully won't be long until my TVS....

I do not know what the future holds for me I have 2 great kids, so all is not lost

You have been on anitbiotics so ou should be ok from an infection point of view. Despite what is a harrowing experience for you, surgically speaking its a minor routine procedure and should not cause you any lasting problems

When I had a termination (carried out the same as ERPC) I bled for a month afterwards and had bad stomach pains, and a scan showed I needed a ERPC. Dont let it drag on too long - Infections can happen also I was on a high dose of iron due to the blood loss.

I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks, I didn't go for an ERPC for another 3 weeks but had intermittent bleeding and cramps. After the ERPC I got an infection and had bleeding for another 3 weeks. It was a horrible thing to have when you are trying to get over the miscarriage emotionally and then physically you are unwell. The good news is I am now two months down the line and I feel good again, still sad about the M/C but coping so keep going
