my brother's just rung, they've just come back from the hospital after having a scan last night to confirm the babies heart has stopped beating. they are having a day or so to come to terms with it before she will be induced.

Sad

thank you everyone for all your kind words. they went in yesterday morning for the induction and lily was born asleep at 2.09am this morning, weighing 2lbs 11ozs. they have spent the night with her while the midwifes prepared a memory box for them.

I am so sorry to hear about Lilly,LucyKate.

I went through the same thing last April and I am so glad that your brother and his sisterinlaw have another daughter. I have too and they help so much in the healing.

Sending you all big hugs

my cousin's baby was stillborn at 27 weeks last year, whilst i was pregnant with my dd. i found it very hard, but felt selfish feeling bad for myself iyswim. my cousin is marrying her dp this summer, & we'll all be there, including dd who'll be a year old by then. i hope it won't be too strange for everyone. sorry to use your thread to write my feelings down.

lucykate, I didn't get a chance to check the thread until now. Your description of being born asleep is just lovely and I'm all tearful again. I'm glad they were able to spend time with her and I hope it is something they will treasure and find comforting. Sending you all my best doesn't nearly cover it but its meant.

so so sorry to hear of this. My nephew was still born at the same stage 5 years ago. It is still very painful. The funeral was heart breaking but my sister felt a great amount of comfort from it.
