What kind of flowers for a funeral?

I'm attending the funeral for the son of a very good friend of mine.

I'm Muslim so have never attended a christain funeral. Would like to take some flowers along but have no idea what kind to get. Can anyone give me any ideas please?

Thanks.

It depends. A lot of people prefer to just have flowers from family and may suggest a donation to a charity that's close to them instead.

The last time I sent flowers, I contacted a local florist and had the flowers (a simple posy in colours I knew the person liked) sent to the funeral directors.

Thanks for the responses, will pop down to local florist later and see what they have.
