Something nice to say at FIL's funeral?

FIL died last week after a long battle with cancer. OH's family has asked if I would like to say something at the funeral on Wednesday. Does anyone have a nice poem or similar I can read? I've been looking but nothing really seems to fit with who he was or the relationship I had with him. It was a very special relationship, he was not just my FIL but a very dear friend and I actually had a better relationship with him than I do my own father.

I'm finding it hard to put my feelings into words. Can anyone help?

So very sorry for your loss . My FIL passed away two years ago, we were very close and he was a very special person, we had the poem, Not how did he die, but how did he live? read at the funeral.

Both are nice, I may say both and add a little message at the end.

I honestly can't come to terms with it, it's a devastating loss. He was a fighter though, in January was given 4-6 weeks and lasted til 17th this month. He was only 57 in July.
