Sending a donation to a charity via funeral directors

I want to make a donation to a chosen charity in memory of a dear teacher of mine whose family I know. In the obituary it says to send money to the funeral directors. I just wanted to know whether the family will be informed of who sends what? I am just about to send a card to his wife & don't want to bother her with cheques but I also don't want her to think I didn't donate anything especially as I couldn't make the funeral.
thanks

We received a list of who had donated what after our DD's funeral. The funeral director sent a letter within the week.

When my little boy died recently we did donations to the ambulance service via the funeral directors and we got a list of who donated. Not their specific amounts, but a total amount. I would think that they would. Some people sent them straight to me and I had to drop them at the funeral directors anyway as I had no idea where to send them to and wanted it all to go together. Our letter took about 2 months. xxxx

So so sorry for both your losses.

Thank you for the advice, I will send it to the funeral director. I'm not bothered about them knowing how much, it's not important
