Do you mean after "diagnosis" of MC?
You know after having a scan to confirm, and still bleeding etc?

CuriousRegPoster · 01/03/2006 20:36

Yes, after MC has been confirmed. Bleeding stopped. 2 weeks later, HCG levels rising (although slowly)

Did you have a scan at the time?

CuriousRegPoster · 01/03/2006 20:41

Had a scan to confirm that pregnacy wasnt viable and was given a drug to expel the tissues.

The only things I'd think of after bleeding would be an ectopic or a molar pregnancy. The former I'm assuming they ruled out if they did a scan. Surely they'd have been able to determine a molar pregnancy from a scan too?? It's also extremely rare. There's another thread about this in Pregnancy, I think - someone suggested retained tissue (although that was after a 'natural' miscarriage).

Urmmmmmmmm

This sounds a bit odd to me.
I had very high HCG levels after one of my m/c. At first they thought that they could have missed an ectopic pregnancy and were a bit panicked (so was I) I went into hospital and had emergency bloods taken as I was due to go on a 3week holiday the next morning. This confirmed my HCG was going down but very very slowly..... I was not given a reason.

Do you have any pain in your abdomen or in that area? Has anyone mentioned ectopic?
The docs are obviously aware your HCG is rising. Are you going back to hospital? They should be monitoring you!!

I think you can still have retained tissue with medically assisted miscarriages.

hun, I had an ectopic last year. i actually thought i had a mc and was scanned, they could see no pregnancy. My hcg continued to rise slowly though, to cut a long story short it turned out to be ectopic, they only found out when it ruptured and i nearly died from internal bleeding. i don't want to alarm you but they need to be keeping a very close eye on you. What have they said they wil do next?

I had this last year after an erpc. I actually thought i was pg again. Had pg symptoms, lots of very strong positive pg test results etc. Turned out it was retained products and needed another erpc to remove them. They'd become badly infected and had adhered to the sides of my womb. I got very ill while in hospital (stayed 5 days) because of the infection. Get yourself checked out. Preferably with a scan to make sure there's nothing there.

Hi this happened to me in december , they gave me mc leaflets etc but then my hcg suprised them by raising slowly. Dr in epau said this was a "sure" sign of ectopic. She was right, my scans never found it, but i wa diagnosed medically. Make sure they monior You and let them know if you get any stretching like pain. Also try to stay in company until they rule it out, as they told me i could go home until the op next day as long as i had a capable adult nearby. Hoping for you that not what it it though. Good luck
