I hope this does not offend anyone, I just wanted to post something on the bereavement forum that meant a lot to me personally. I hope you will all find peace and ease after the hardship and grief of losing your baby or child and I wish all of you the very best. Here are a few Islamic sayings, both from the Qur'an and hadith (recordings of prophet Mohammed's life) that have really struck a chord with me over the years.

A mother is always a mother no matter how many babies she loses or even if she loses them all and has only been pregnant for a very short while.

A mother has the highest status and it is said that Paradise lies beneath her feet.

The lost child will pull its mother to Paradise by its umbilical cord and won't leave the mother until she is admitted into its gates.

A woman who dies during her pregnancy or in childbirth is a martyr

A man once asked the messenger of God 'who is the most worthy of my love and companionship? The messenger replied 'youur mother'. The man asked twice more, and twice more he was told - 'your mother'. On the Fourth time he was told 'and then your father'

'In pain and hardship/weakness did his mother bear him and in pain and hardship/weakness did she give him birth' Al Qur'an

Any of your personal quotes or saying would be much appreciated :)
