Bit lost at the moment - lots of RL support but dont really want to talk to anyone close - any one have any link to forumn for youngish widows (45 - 3kids) the only ones I can find are for older ladies thanks

I'm not sure how old your children are but Winstons Wish is a charity for bereaved children. My daughter was too young to make use of their website but it is very good and worth a look.

Just wanted to say I'm very sorry for your loss & hope you're able to find some useful resources.

Many thanks for the suggestions - children are 13, 10 and 7 - they coped really well for the 1st 2 weeks but we are all starting to wobble now

Of course they are, you are a brilliant mum for reaching out to get help for them and yourself. Please tell them, that they will never stop missing their dad but it will become easier to remember the good times. I lost my father when I was 13, and I speak from experience. Thoughts are with you all.

So sorry for your loss. The way foundation is supposed to be good and the Merrywidow website has an excellent forum. There are sadly lots of mn'ers in a similar situation. I am sure if you bumped your message when it is s bit busier a few would be along to help.

I would second merry widow as an excellent forum. Every time I thought: "I bet no-one else has felt this", I would find someone on there posting about it. It helps you feel less alone. I lost my husband 4 years ago when I was 47 and I have found it really helpful.

I also tried WAY in the early days but didn't find that as helpful to be honest.

It is so early for you - look after yourself and your children as much as you can.

i am so sorry for your loss - my dh died april 2011 so nearly a year ago

tbh at times i find mw depressing - there are never any happy posts - just people posting describing their feelings and 99% saying they cant talk to their friends or family - or that they dont understand

i often read and think fuck they need better friends -the only way ive got through the past 11mths is through the help and love and support of my friends

way on the other hand is fab, and meet up once a month for drinks/meals/chat and this i enjoy - but think this is down to the leader of my area

cruse supplied a counsellor for me who i see fortnightly -again she is very good
