my FIL died this morning

That's it really. Just very very sad. He was only early 60s.

I have to post to say "I'm so sorry" I love my FIL more than I live dh and I'd be devestated to lose him really feel for you Sad

Thanks for your messages. He had stomach cancer a few years ago, but it came back sadly. So unfair. He was great.

Oh, dear, I'm an absolute mess and am swaying between functioning normally and being a sobbing wreck. I'm trying to support DH, of course, but I am soooo sad and just cannot believe that my lovely FIL is no longer here. I feel like I should be much stronger for DH and his sister and mum and not be consumed by my own feelings. Fil, just shouldn't have died yet, much too soon. I feel so sad for my DH and have this awful sense of dread that everything has changed now forever. Sad

Yes, since my mum died I feel as if I now inhabit a different world from the one I was in before, where nothing is certain any more. It's very strange and disorientating.
