What kind of card should i send

A close friend of mine lost her baby in the early hours of the morning, she was nearly 12weeks.

She lives quite a way from me and getting to go and see her will be impossible.

I want to send her a card, but, don't know whether to send a 'with sympathy' or a 'thinking of you both' card.

What do think?

Thinking of you would be best I think in the circumstances. You can then tailor it to the circumstances with your own message!

Poor them, what a horrid time for this to happen - horrid anyway, but especially on christmas eve!

Thanks soapbox, i have arranged for one to be sent day after boxing day. I am heartbroken for her and wish there was something i could do,i don't drive, and its 10 hours on a bus, she has been having problems for a short while.

It's put a dampner on my mood now, we haven't know each other that long, but we have become quite close

mrsbubsdevere, i was pregnant with my dd when a close friend's dw was also pregnant, we were actually due on the same day also.
she lost baby at 10 weeks, about two weeks after slipping over at her wedding.
i felt awful because i was still pregannt and she wasnt.
it terrified me to pick up the phone and call her after her dh told my dh. they were scared to tell me too. i was just scared i wouldnt have the right words.
i finally did, after about an hour of battling with myself what to say. I never said i was sorry. I didnt ask how she was. I was honest, i told her i was scared to call her for my above reason and was there anything at all i could do for her. it broke the ice and she thanked me for being the first person not to ask if she was ok, not to say i was sorry. she said thats why she called me her friend.
i would def go with the thinking of you card. you cant be "there" with her physically but you can be "there" for her if she needs and wants to talk.
