He died on the 20th November 2009, he would have been 54.

I am at work all day but can't really concentrate. I want to do something special tonight but don't know what...

Sad

Aw bless u Hun, it's been 8 years since I lost my dad and it's his birthday on Thursday and it never gets easier I'm afraid.
We just plan to go for a meal as don't like to make a big fuss but always like to raise a glass or two.

Thoughts and hugs to u hunni, chin up xxxx

Poor you, your dad was so young when he died.
I'm sure a grown up will be along in a minute with good suggestions for tonight, a bit beyond me to be honest, but wanted to at least reply and send my condolences.

Last year I made a CD compilation of all the songs he loved and songs which reminded me of him and played them. We raised a glass and it was nice but I wanted to do something different this year I think

just wondered what you did last night and if you feel ok today?

onehellofaride · 06/09/2011 16:53

In the end I stayed in, listened to the CDs again with a glass of wine and toasted my dad with a cream bun (which he loved) Grin it was nice and relaxed and as my DH went to play football for a while and the DC were in bed me and my DM had a chance to remember and smile
