Want to send something to friends who have lost baby boy

Hello,
I am at a loss. Our friends have lost their 3 month old baby boy. I sent them flowers, but i feel it is not enough. They live hundreds of miles away, and we don't often see them. I want to send something, that they can keep, to show we are thinking of them. I know nothing we send will help them, but i just want them to know we care.
Anyone have any suitable suggestions? Thanking you in advance.

I have friends who lost their son at 8 weeks. A group of us bought them a tree sappling. They planted it in a communal garden close to where they live. Would that be something they might want?

You can buy them on line and they are delivered by courier.

A friend of mine lost a baby in similar circumstances about 5 years ago. She said the cards and flowers all showered in at once, and she didn't even notice them. She kept all the cards and reread them later, and that is when she realised that she had friends who cared. She still reads them from time to time, particularly on anniversaries.

She also said that it was the people who she spoke to in the weeks and months afterwards that helped the most. She has virtually no recollection of who she spoke to in the immediate aftermath.

Sorry this isn't more constructive but I guess the thing is to KEEP in touch, to let her know you're always there and thinking of her, as at the moment she's probably just barely functioning. Hope this helps in some way.

When my DD was stillborn, my workmates bought me a ruby ring, it was her birthstone. I wear it all of the time many years later.
