Ten years ago today since my husband died.

I cant believe it has been ten years. Dh had been ill but we hadnt expected him to go so quickly. He was a lot older than me. My ds found him and couldnt wake him up.........Sad
I just wish that he was here so he could see how well Wilfred has done..............

He was an amazing man, he was in the SAS in the 1950's and 60's. In the later 1960's he nursed Rudolf Hess while he was in the army in Berlin. He was an amazing cook as well. The one thing he made that i wouldnt eat was rabbit curry! ewwwwwwww! Hmm

There is 18 years between my Dh and I.

He will be 15 on Sunday. We had had his 5th birthday party the day before dh died..............

Saw your post and wanted to add to it. It's amazing how quickly time goes by isn't it and how much can happen in that time. You and your son appear to have done very well since you lost your husband and I get the impression from your posts and your pics/profile that you are very positive and strong person.

Sending you gentle vibes on this anniversary and hoping that you and Wilfrid feel the love of Frank around you today.

It was 10 years since my mother passed this February, a very hard day and somehow it was even sadder that she wasn't with me as she is now missing so much, like seeing her grandchildren. I think we need to grieve even as time goes on so just allow yourself to be sad today, be sad but good to yourself and your son. Maybe do something together to mark the day? Like visit his grave or light a candle in church if your church-goers or just sit together and watch pictures of him and your time together?

It must have been really hard raising Wilfred on your own, so fair play to you for a job obviously very well done. It must equally have been hard on Wilfred growing up without such a great father but I am sure many of his fathers qualities live on in him.

As a side note, there's a 24 year gap between me and my other half and my dd is only 2 so who's to say how long we have together as a family.

Thanks ladies, Ive arranged to go out with two friends tonight. Wilf is away at school this weekend.
