Hello
The Mumsnet team have given me permission to let you know about this year's Babyloss Awareness Week.
Some of you may have visited the Babyloss website (www.babyloss.com) already - it's a UK resource where you can find support and information regarding pregnancy loss, stillbirth or neonatal death.
This year's national Awareness Week is being held from the 11th to the 17th of October.
Following our successful Awareness Day in 2002, we've once again teamed up with the following four organisations:
ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices)
The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust
SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society)
and The Miscarriage Association.
We are asking people to make a small donation in exchange for a blue and pink ribbon pin (available via www.babyloss.com and all made by hand by a network of bereaved parents). Profits will be split between the organisations detailed above, and the Babyloss fund (which supports smaller projects, such as bereavement suites or local memorials).
Several memorial services will take place across the UK, and our central event will be held at the American Church in London on October 15th. We hope that as many bereaved parents as possible will be able to join us in the international Wave of Light - lighting a candle at 7pm, any location, in memory of babies lost during pregnancy, at birth or in the first few weeks
of life.
Please visit the events section of the website to buy a ribbon pin online and to find out the latest Awareness Week news, and how you can get involved.
I hope that this information is useful to Mumsnet members and hope that I haven't caused any upset by posting here.
Thank you to Carrie, Justine and Rachel for allowing me to let you all know about Awareness Week - if you have any queries, please get in touch with me via [email protected].
Best wishes to everyone
