Memories of Wilfs Daddy......

Wilf lost his daddy ( my late dh) two days before he was five, he found him in bed and couldnt wake him up........Wilf is profoundly deaf and autistic. Fast forward nearly ten years and he keeps asking about Daddy. I have just read an interview with Natasha Mcelhone who lost her husband, she was saying how her late husbands friends come round to talk to her boys. I have decided to ask all my late dh's friends to write something about him and put them all in a book for Wilf. That way he will have memories. We took pictures for him at the funeral so he has pictures to look at too........

I think that is a great idea Lottie , new memories and thoughts of Daddy can only be a good thing for Wilf .

Do you think they will all be happy to do it ?

Two of my late DH's friends are very close to us, i regularly see them for drinks in the pub. I call them my Frankies Angels! (DH was called Frank) He was an amazing man. He was in the SAS and his last job before retiring was to train all the men who went into the Iranian Embassy in 1980. i have been given the chance to meet one of the men in May when he does a talk at The Army Museum. I was there last month and told the staff about DH. They have given me a ticket so i can go and meet the ex SAS guy.

I have had a successful day, three of Franks friends have agreed to write things, one of them said he would say that Frank had a smiley face and that they often met in the pub!! I said that sounded perfect!! Wink
