In memory of my Grandpa who died today

My awesome wonderful grandpa died this morning at the grand old age of 96. He was on top form and sharp as a tack right up until he decided to give up a couple of weeks ago. It's Christmas day :(

Just want to say somewhere how ace he was. Always answered phone with "Hello me old sweetheart" in his welsh accent. He was a brigadier in the army, lived all over the world and spoke fluent Urdu. Used to take me and my Brother swimming everytime we went to stay.

My grandma died a year and a half ago after SEVENTY FIVE years together and 60years of marriage. He missed her terribly and for last 5years of her life fed her 3times a day after a series of strokes meant Grandma was a shell of the woman she was. Anyhow rest in peace Grandpa. Hope you are now at peace and with Grandma wherever you are. I love you and your baby great grand daughter loved meeting you those few times and I will always make sure she knows what a special man you were! Xxx

So sorry to hear he has died, but how lovely to hear what a full happy life he has lived.

Thinking of you.

Oh bless Thandeka. He sounds so lovely. I am sorry.

Thanks! Am a bit tiddled on all the Christmas wine so post wasn't as coherent as would like to think sober ones are!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sad

I hope he is at peace. It sounds like he had a wonderful life... full of love and joy.

Wishing you peace and strength Thandeka x

You have more than enough reason to be a bit tiddled, Thandeka :)
