Aw Gazza I read that you lost your DP recently on another thread. I am so sorry I can't offer you any advice but I can be here if you need some company. Where are you? I am in Wiltshire.

Harimo · 13/07/2010 22:05

I'm in herts? Here for coffee / chat.

Not sure I have any advice but here nonetheless.

Miles away (Wilts beautiful though, had a relly who lived there). It is just so daunting. How do I get to meet people/I don't mean in a romantic sense more in afinding friends as a lp with a dc with sn sense,so that i can still be me and have proper adult friends.

I'm afraid i'm another one who doesnt know your story. (Been away for 3 years and now back under another name).

Sorry you're so sad, could you make friends slowly through your dc perhaps?
Where are your old friends sweetheart?

neolara · 13/07/2010 22:11

I don't know your story, but I am very sorry that you have lost your DP. It must be devastating for you.

Do you know about the organisation WAY (widowed and young)? I have a friend who lost her husband a few years ago and she has found a great deal of support and friendship through WAY.

LadyBlaBlah · 13/07/2010 22:14

Would the Merry Widows site be any use - it wasn't for my mum as seemed to be aimed at younger widows?
I think they do meet-ups though?

Really sorry for your loss - you must be in despair about how your life has changed so dramatically and I hope as time goes on you can make some steps in building a new life.

AbiAbi · 14/07/2010 08:27

I'm sorry for your loss

Maybe try the meet-up boards here to meet people near to you? Whereabouts are you inthe country?

DadInsteadofMum · 14/07/2010 09:53

WAY has been a lifeline for me - able to meet and talk to other people who understand.

Come and join us www.wayfoundation.org.uk/

I'm on Merry Widows under a different name..... If you post there, I'll piece together the bits you've posted here and over there and say hi to you!
