As many of you know DS1 is somewhat awkward with his behaviour. Well in turn for an easy life i have been known to give into him far too much...Well it would appear to be for an easy life when in fact it is for a life many of you would class as simply normal.

There have been a string of events lately that have left me reduced to tears and seriously at a loss.

However I now have bigger issues as my depression has hit like a sledge hammer,DS2 has started copying, He desperatly needs to have a bedtime routine without DS1 disturbing him and this will sound selfish I need some time to relax!

I am waiting for an appt with CAHMS but there is a waiting list.

my flat is suffering seriously as I am sinking further down but I am getting there with the flat...have decorated 2 rooms cleared alot of washing sorted DS1's room out, made a part of my room into DS2's room (hard to describe but there is an arch way in my room and have made the part through the arch DS2's room iyswim?) so I am making some headway.

I have noticed that when i am down i have a habit of accumaliting crap well clothes i keep because they remind me of this or that.

I am not asking for help there just some help in getting a routine going here because i feel i am sinking further down and am going mad.

DS1 is back to school tomorrow after 2 weeks holiday so i will have abit of a break from him there, yes i know that sounds horrible but i am worn out.

I need to get myself into a routine and need ideas/encouragment.

feel free to flame me for saying i need a break from him, but some of the things he has been doing have left me reeling.

DS1 is 11 and DS2 is 2.

DS1 has ODD.

Pah thats nothing ( the washing ;) )

And! sorted like that it will make it easier to put away. Just don't let yourself get a mountain to put away!

How many wash loads do you normally do in a day?

How long does it take to dry one wash load?

TheLadyEvenstar · 24/02/2010 00:09

Sorry, yes i agree thats what has always stopped me getting help until last yr.

Ninja, I have tried so many things over the years, i have lost the plot on many tbh.

Sorry I kinda love him and like him even if not his behaviour, I don't think i will recycle him just yet....would rather work on him first see if we can fix us.

sorry If you can't say something positive... you are going to end up saying your name a lot...

NinjaWarrior · 24/02/2010 00:13

That's great- it will really help. Hopefully you will get some good advice about the oddness too, but I have to go to bed now. Will check tomorrow and see if anybody has any ideas.

Kitkatqueen · 24/02/2010 00:15

If it helps you any I do 2 wash loads a day when i'm on top of all the washing, the keeps the staus quo iyswim? so I only try to do a Max of 2 extras a day when i'm on catchup because if I do more I end up with a clean mountain and then the problem spirals....

TheLadyEvenstar · 24/02/2010 00:17

Thanks Ninja

kitkat yes thats what has happened, where i have to wash everything because of the damp,i have ended up with 2 piles now. one of clean and one of dirty.....maybe i seriously need to get rid of some clothes. I am hanging on to things for no good reason....like a jumper my grandad bought me xmas 2001 but i won't throw because he died the valentines day 2002.........that kind of thing.

Thats a tricky one! How about this one! My grandmother died 2 years ago aged nearly 100. She had a VERY rough young life, left school at age 7. very little food, abusive father. at age 21 she rescued her mother and 5 of her siblings from him by renting a house and forcing the court to make her guardian. having almost no money she hand made sheets and pillowcases to give the children something to sleep in. They are in my laundry cupboard right now...

Kitkatqueen · 24/02/2010 00:28

You need to stop washing until the clean is put away. Ignore the dirty mountain and clear the clean. Then you will be able to put each washload away straight away, avoid the mountain...

Some sentimental things deserve to be kept.

I have dads cardy and body warmer as well....i can still smell him on his cardy although i have washed it.

Ah! I have blankets from my nans house they still smell of her house, love it its sad but lovely too.

I don't think now is the time for you to be turning stuff out.

no 1 you need to put away clean stuff, ( give yourself a treat for every basket put away)

no2 write out a routine and dig out some stickers for ds1 to help ds2 with (make sure you spend 30mins minimum of the before bed routine doing nothing, but being with the boys, ie no housework, phonecalls internet etc.) It will help a lot.

No 3 do 2 extra washloads every day until the back log is clear.

Kitkatqueen · 24/02/2010 00:43

Drink wine and or eat chocolate and try to imagine the size that my washing pile was a few days ago
