DS 2years 2months has been waking at 2am screaming, shaking and shouting "down stairs" this has been going on for a few weeks and so far we have been keeping hold of him in his room until he falls asleep in our arms, however now the neighbours have complained

So we have moved him into a different room and were going to let him control cry BUT he has started to throw himself out of the cot in a rage!

What is the safest thing to do??

HELP I am about to give birth and can't stop crying

My DD started waking between midnight and 2am every night when she got to about 2.2. Prior to that, she'd been in her cot and then bed quite happily from a few weeks old. I took her into my bed as I just needed to sleep (I work full time and am single parent). She now sleeps in my bed every night. I don't really mind but I know that I have made a huuuuuge mistake that will take months to undo (when I can face it).

Not saying you shouldn't take child into your own bed but definitely would recommend staying with DS in his room if you or DH can still get enough sleep.

Good luck and hope tonight goes well for you.

How did you get on last night? Hope it went well.

Hello again
He slept through!! Can you believe that?! I know it will happen again...waking I mean...and one off's like this often happened before, but I do feel better today for having a full nights sleep!

The only thing we did was cuddle him in his room whilst he was a bit upset being put to sleep, but he did cry for 15mins after we left the room.....and I put some Lavander drops on his sheets......

Thanks so much for your support, if he wakes tonight I'll do the cuddle in the room again then put him back in his cot.

THANK-YOU!!

Oh and I moved his cot into the middle of the room for his day sleep so he new if he tumbled out onto the bed (his usual trick) it would hurt as the bed had gone, then reminded him last night....think he understood, but I put 200 pillows on the floor before I went to bed just to be sure!

It's amazing how different you feel after a bit of kip isn't it?!

Glad you're feeling more positive about it.
