Hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely xmas!

Just wanted to ask. Have a son who is almost 19 months, he;s been walking since 14 months, but till does not walk too far, probably becuase I haven;t been so confident in it, I wont leave the buggy at home, and I cant walk him and push buggy at the same time, it has the steering of a tesco trolley. So it either has to be buggy or walking not both. Also I am 7 months pregnat and if I leave buggy at home, I really struggle carrying little boy with big bump!!

He winges in his buggy, and if I leave him in it he just starts screaming yeling trying to get out etc, but can;t walk far so gets annoyed with that too. If I put him in his buggy when he is tired of walking we get the screaming again.

SO this equals not wanting to go out! I am not sure what I am doing with this buggy verses walking thing!

Buggy board???? He does have a trike with a parent handle, but it is just too cold to push him around on it, not to mention snowy at the mo so not really safe!

AND...what on earth do I do when baby comes, I am going to be house bound...can't push baby in silver cross 3d and walk number 1 coz buggy is unsteerable, and double would cause same issues, wouldn't be able to push it and walk the other child!

PLEEEASE HELP!!!!!

Kirstie

Hi Kirstie, I don't really have any suggestions about your buggy/walking dilema - my DD2 (21mths) is the same, screams in the buggy. As I have an older DD as well I often just have to close my ears to the screaming - if she HAS to be in the buggy. DD1 goes on buggy board. She moans too come to think of it - I think I just grit my teeth a lot!

Anyway, was going to say that you that perhaps you should consider a sling for new baby? I used one for DD2 and it was a godsend. She was tucked away in sling most of the time and happy as larry. Perfect as you and your son get more confident with him walking further too as you will have your hands free to deal with him.

Definitely recommend a sling too - but also a buggyboard is great - they can jump on and off as and when they get tired. That and a sling saved us ever having to do the double buggy thing..... good luck!
