Pelican Bibs at what age!?

vwkombi · 27/10/2009 14:36

My son uses a pelican bib, even at school for lunch time. He is moving into high schol next year, should he still use the pelican bib even though he really needs to?

Just to say - DS feeds himself his own food and covers himself in it, it's fine. How else is he going to learn? 90% of it goes in his mouth, the rest on his t-shirt.

he's almost 2.

agree with mumeeee - don't put the bib in his bag. We're talking scarring for life here.

BrigitBigKnickers · 30/10/2009 02:38

I think the really serious emergencies are more likely to be the ones involving an ambulance being required after him getting the crap kicked out of him following the first lunchtime where he wears his pelican bib...

Please do credit us with some intelligence!

I'm just not sure what to do. I worried he'd ruin good clothes. He loves beatroot sandwiches and yoghurt. Maybe a pelican bib is best for these?

maybe it would be better if he ate his dinner at home?

vwkombi · 30/10/2009 07:27

He would if I was not working all day and no one at home for him to go home

Lulumama · 30/10/2009 07:38

I have a 10 year old boy, and there is no way he would wear a bib, even at home. unless there was some sort of SN.

i;m afraid i simply don;t believe that a NT teen would wear a bib in public

and that you as his mother and protector would allow this

you also said on a different thread he was 8.5 , so i doubly don't believe you

year 6 children would definitely take the rise out of a peer in a bib

and you have failed him big time by allowing him to get to this age and unable to eat without a bib.

if this was true

which it isn't

vwkombi · 30/10/2009 07:41

Why are you having a go at me about this? I'm asking for advice

OP posts:
Lulumama · 30/10/2009 07:46

I am not having a go, I find this scenario to be unbelieveable, especially when you have got confused about the age of your son in other posts

i will leave the thread as i don't believe you and maybe you need support i can't give

vwkombi · 30/10/2009 07:49

Just a slight error thats all. Sorry

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 30/10/2009 08:05

Not knowing how old your child is is not a slight error.

You are full of s*it.

vwkombi · 30/10/2009 08:10

It was an error when I posted it. I didn't relise I'd put the wrong age till it was up. SOTP HAVING A GO PLEASE

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 30/10/2009 08:15

Look - you asked for advice, the overwhelming response is that putting a bib on a child older than a toddler is weird and uneccessary.

vwkombi · 30/10/2009 08:25

Even if it means ruining cloths not to wear one?

OP posts:
IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 30/10/2009 08:42

YES!!

You don't ruin clothes if you get yoghurt on them FFS - just don't give him beetroot sandwiches

CybilLiberty · 30/10/2009 08:43

weird

girlsyearapart · 30/10/2009 08:56

There was another site talked about in AIBU earlier this week. Perhaps you should go and re post there.

My 13mo doesn't even wear a bib, feeds herself and keeps her clothes reasonable..

vwkombi · 30/10/2009 08:58

What is that site girlsyearapart?

BrigitBigKnickers Ha ha! Just spilled my coffee thanks to you

What a load of balls this thread is. You don't make a 'slight error' with the age like that.

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 30/10/2009 09:11

Do you think this is a 10 year olf boy who's Mum makes him wear a bib to school, and he's trying to get as many people as possible to call her mad?

girlsyearapart · 30/10/2009 09:16

Can;t remember what it was called and wouldn't name it if I could.

Maybe he could team the bib with some knee high socks if you do find the site..

ABitHaloweenBatty · 30/10/2009 09:17

AIBU to not want to wear the stupid bib my mum tries to make me wear at school, I am 10 FFS!?
Yours,
Barry the Bibless WonderBoy

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 30/10/2009 09:31
