My little boy just threw a pair of shoes at the lady in clarks mid-tantrum

... then he started hitting me... The trigger was trying on shoes (clearly) which are new and don't feel like his old ones. I asked him to walk in them and he lost it and started throwing himself around and screaming. I sat him down and told him to stop that now, took off the shoes and then he chucked the shoes full force at the lady. I obviously made him apologise, then I apologised, and then dragged him out to the car where I got very cross with him then burst into tears.

One of many tantrums in public. Didn't have any of this with oldest son (3.10yrs), who was there in clarks watching in horror at his little brother (2.3yrs).

Horrendous behaviour. He's taken to tantrums in a big way but there is NO getting through to him, separation, distraction... nothing seems to work!

Any ideas ladies? Still livid. Need a drink.

Ds2 was the same in fact he kicked the assistant almost hitting her face when she tried to measure him.
I was mortified.
Put it down to a bad day.
I am sure Clarks assistants have seen it al before.
In fact being in Clarks makes me want to throw a tantrum, I hate it.

At 2 my DD was the toddler from hell. Northing would snap her out of tantrums. The only thing that really worked was her growing up to be 3 and now at 4 she is s delight most of the time!

My Mum worked in Clarkes for years and I can reassure that these type tantrums and being hit my shoes and feet are very common. The only thing that used to annoy her was when the parent did not tell the child off or say sorry.
