DS (10 months old) wakes any time from 4:50 to 5:30am and on the advice given in the other thread, I'm going to try tipping him in to bed by 6:30pm at the latest BUT is this too early really? I can't be doing with him being up for the day from 4:15 or anything awful like that. I'm wondering if he does just have 10 hours of sleep in him and that's all he needs at the moment.

Any thoughts and advice welcome!

I am so excited by this thread (and a bit late to join, sorry!). I put my 6MO to bed at 6.30pm and was thinking about making it earlier than that (she is sometimes completely cabbaged by then and doesn't have much of a feed before she falls asleep). My friends all put their LOs to bed much later and my MIL thinks I'm bonkers. Hurray for early bedtimes!!

Bump, because I just put DD down at 6.45pm...
she was up before 4am today, for a chat and a play . She went back to sleep by about 6am, and was up for the day by 8.30am. Having had two good naps today, she was getting a bit grumpy by 5pm, had a quick feed and then she was ok until about 6.20pm... so I put her to bed. Will report back!

Does anybody have a link to the "other thread" mentioned above?

oh, she'll be 7 months old next week. Forgot that part.

My son is 19months and goes to bed at 6pm everyday. Wakes up at 6am but GOES BACK TO BED after breakfast at 9am and sleeps until 12:30 in the afternoon!

Some children just need their sleep! I teach and so many of my class (8 year olds) are half asleep by 10am. Ask them what time they go to bed and 9pm with a DVD on comes the reply!

I think this is the previous post referred to link

Thanks nmt
Well that didn't work! She was up 2 hours later, for 2 hours, and then fully awake and ready to play by 3am.

Tried putting dd to bed earlier, but she just wont settle happily and whatever time she eventually falls asleep it is only ever for about 10 maybe 10 1/2 hours, so 7 pm bed means 5 am waking! so stuck now with bed by 8 8/30 and occasionally she will make it to 7am the next morning.

longing for the time when she will sleep 12 hours!

Envious of all you mums who it has worked for!

My 2 months old had been going to bed at 7 before daylight savings and I have been trying 10 mins early but it doesn't seem to work with her.

Could I just put her to bed 1 hour early for few days and would that work?

It doesn't matter what time I put her to bed she still wakes a up at 1.30 at night?

Could I just move her bed time and does that work
