I am about to invest in said stair gates as my DD (10 months) has suddenly shown signs of becoming a mountaineer - need to find ones that would fix onto our curved bannisters - does anyone have a suggestion please?
I'm sure we cant be the only people with bannisters up one side of the stairs but most of the ones I've seen look as though they'll only fit onto a flat surface...

We have kiddiguards, the roller type, as they were the only ones that would fit our stairs. I have to say they've been great and well worth the extra money. The only downside to them is you need 2 hands to open them.

I think the flat surface fittings are the norm, is there any way you can fit gates across a hallway rather than the stairs themselves?

We were in the same situation - the roller one has worked for us. Pricey, though.

we dont have a hallway really! its a victorian terrace, so its wall on one side and then bannisters and space on the other side!
sounds like the roller might be the answer.. thanks all x
