i am loving both of these!

In the 1600s they used to swaddle the baby onto a piece of wood, and then hang the piece of wood from a hook on the wall.

Same old, same old ...

ChasingSquirrels · 18/01/2009 21:09

when we lived in Papua New Guinea most of the local mum's carried their babies in knitted string/wool bags. If they were say down for a chat or whatever they hung the bags in the trees. Same kind of thing really, so definately NOT just america, PNG is as far removed from america as you can imagine.

feck me that hand thing is creepy

treedelivery · 18/01/2009 21:31

Suppose thats very sensible if the climate means there are ants and other leggy type fellas to bite you. Sounds quite relaxing, like being in a hammock.

Less keen on idea of being swaddled to some wood although it might have improved my posture.!

blueshoes · 18/01/2009 21:34

This is the stuff for Dragon's Den

ChasingSquirrels · 18/01/2009 21:35

exactly like hammocks, swaying gently in the breeze.

Racingsnake · 18/01/2009 21:42

Love the idea of hanging the baby on the loo door! I wonder if they do them in toddler size? DD does a great line in limboing out under the door.

chegirl · 18/01/2009 21:46

I just know Id forget him.

Ive done with my handbag enough times, I'd be bound to do with my DS3. He is very quiet. You know what its like once you've had a few (kids that is).

Wonderstuff · 18/01/2009 21:51

ROFL love the idea of live art

foxytocin · 19/01/2009 05:11

hanging in a string bag in the gentle breeze
vs
hanging by my crotch in a public loo

hmm

i wonder which i'd choose.

JackBauer · 19/01/2009 08:47

I'm with foxy, world of difference to nice comfy carrier/bag in breeze and horrible crotch-hangy carrier....
And it is just the loo, when else are you going to need to hang your toddler up and couldn't possibly carry them?
So you buy this stupid thing just in case you need a wee in public?
