i went out with dd this morning and she slept a bit in the pushchair, no more than half an hour, when we got home i carried her to cot but she woke up and wouldn't sleep. it was 12 anyway so i got her up for lunch and a play. she normally naps in her cot about 1 or 1.30 for 2 hours but wansn't tired at all at that time. at 2.30 i brought her up for a nap and she is standing up in the cot crying and screaming. i have been in and settled her down but am beginning to lose it now as she is screaming and getting herself all hot and bothered and hasn't been well last week.
should i just forget it and get her up even though she will be so cranky all afternoon?
ffs i have had enough!

dd has gone back to her normal 2 hr naps now her 2 molars are through and she hasn;t bf since mon morning so i think we have def stopped, i have found it very emotional stopping and have been tempted to just do one more feed but know i would then have togo through this again ao i'm sticking with it.

Excellent news!!!! Well done for sticking to it, you should be very proud of yourself and dd. It must have been very hard and quite emptional for you both. (from meandjoe by the way)XXX

thanks t&mj (nice name)
has the teething improved, how many teeth has he got? dd has 12 now and they've all been a pain.

He has 14 but they have all (except for the two bottom incissors) been completely awful for us him! The back molars seem to be bringing tantrums galore!

ilovetochatupsanta · 12/12/2008 20:27

incisors? are they the pointy ones? do they come before the back molars then?

They are the front smoothe ones that you bite with 4 at top and 4 at bottom (the ones you mainly see when you smile!), the spikey ones are the canines which are next to the incisors. My ds doesn't have any spikey ones yet but from what others say they are 'meant' to come through before the molars. DS first incisors came through at bottom without me even noticing, he wasn't bothered by them at all but since then, every lot seems to have got worse, is that normal or is ds wierd??? The back ones are bigger I suppose so it makes sense that they hurt more maybe?? He seems to make a bit of a drama out of it but it must hurt him.

dd has been in pain and gets a rash with all of them, she has her front 4 top and bottom and then her front molars at the moment.

Aww poor little girl. Joe doesn't get a rash really but he does get very red cheeks and is VERY irritable and tantrummy! Thankfully he still sleeps well though. He has been a tantrumming little whinger today, screamed just cos I wouldn't let him have EVERY single thing he has seen me holding/ eating/ drinking, grrrrrr!

How's your day been?

ilovetochatupsanta · 13/12/2008 18:14

good really, dp had day off which was unexpected so we have been out delivering presents and put up the xmas tree, we just got some more decorations before tea and dd is playing with some bells and loves the lights on the tree.
i've had a terrible time with weaning her off bf, there is a thread about it, but hopefully tonight will go better.

Good, glad you had a good day. it's official, I hate teething!!!! lol. I hope it's teething anyway, either that or he has just hit the terrible 2s very early which wouldn't suprise me! He seems to have looked for excuses to cry today (which I know is rubbish but it feels that way!). Ahhhh I am learning to keep calm and ignore it though. At least he has napped well and should finges crossed sleep well.

I still need to put our tree up, i think I'll get dh to help me with it tomorrow. Shouldn't think it'll take ds to pull all the baubles off it though !!!

ilovetochatupsanta · 13/12/2008 20:32

dd hasn't napped at all today so she is very cranky all afternoon, she has pulled 2 baubles apart and keeps taking the bells off the tree, got some lovley photos of her helping though.

arrrgh, ds has done nothing but try and reach the decorations and have horrendous falls and tantrums all day! he woke me up at 4:20am too ! he has had 2 long naps though which is unusual for him now, he tends to have just one. we put the tree up earlier and all he did was try and pull the damn thing down (understandably) so we've put it on a sideboard out of his reach. he kept taking the baubles to bits too!

ilovetochatupsanta · 14/12/2008 21:12

took dd out visiting so she got to play with other people's trees, only joking, she loved it though seeing pretty lights everywhere we went.
she slept well last night and i think her teething is over as she has been good today and had a 2hr nap.
