Sorry it's boring but could you tell me at what age kids in general drop the daytime nap, if they are having 12 hours sleep at night (7pm-7am)

TIA

Sorry that should read 7pm-7am lol, 24 hours would be fab once in a while eh?

bertolli, my ds dropped his around 2.5. DD still having hers.

With ds i found that his bedtime was creeping later, so rather than drop the day nap altogether i reduced it over the course of a couple of weeks by 15-20 mins at a time and gradually brought bedtime back forward. Dropping it straight away would have been too much for him. By reducing it gradually we had no big problems tbh.

DS1 still going strong at 2.9 with his. Have had a few wobbles with it but overall he seems to still need it. He can miss it occasionally, but generally conks out pretty comprehensively the next day. It has got later, though - now generally not down until 1.30-2, and will sleep til 4 - luckily with no discernible impact on nighttime sleep.

Considering he was a truly crapola sleeper as a baby, and hardly napped at all, I am v surprised that he is still going with it.

From observing over the past few weeks, I think he will drop it by going to normal length (for him) naps every 2-3 days, rather than having a shorter nap every day - unlike my nephew, who did the opposite.

DD is 3.3 and sleeps 11/12 hrs a night, sometimes has a sleep in the aft & sometimes doesn't! Though when she doesn't she can be a real little monster getting around the 6 0'clock mark!! Long live afternoon naps!!

It's really variable I think. DD1 was a bit over 2 and a half. DD2 is nearly 21 months, but I think we might have to drop it soon. She's never needed as much sleep as DD1 and now if she sleeps after lunch (even if I wake her after 45 mins or so) she'll often stay awake running around in her room, reading books etc until 8.30 / 9pm driving me (and her sister as they share a room) nuts! Unfotunately without the nap she's pretty ratty in the late afternoon, but I think I might have to live with that for a bit as I can't face the late evenings

18 months here - never had a nap since. DD sleeps 12 hours at night. She was never a napper in the daytime.
