Can anyone tell me at what sort of age freckles and moles appear?

Do some people just not have any?

DD is one next week and has just one freckle and no moles and I was just wondering when/if she's likely to get more.

This is probably rather a strange question

moles on my children started to appear between 6mths and 2yrs.

freckles come with sun damage if you are prone to them. I am very freckly.....all my children have at least a few (coming from about 18mths IIRC), and DD2 is like me.

I say they come with sun damage........all are smothered the same in cream, and yet DD2 has as many as me, so it is not just sun damage IYGWIM......tis also just how your skin is.

Thanks for that psycho. Strangely DDs freckle is on her left labia...

I remember getting freckles across my nose in the summer when I was little, but I don't have get them now.

My mum has got increasingly more freckly with age, but I've just got a light sprinkling and the don't seem to be multiplying.

Maybe there are different types of freckles? Curiouser and curiouser

I think moles start appearing at about 3, and the process continues for ages. DS is still getting new ones and he's nearly seven.

DD1 won;t thank me for sharing, but she too has one on her girly bits.

DD2 has one the same place as me (inner right thigh), and I remember hers appeared at 8mths, when she was in hospital with HIB influenza. I remember it as to start with it looked as tho it was a very red imflamed spot, and then it became obvious it was a mole, and the docs were at first quite alarmed.

DS2 has ones matching DH on his back.

in fact, each of out children have at least one matching mole with either me or DH, and flame says the same about her and flamechick.......now that is odd

Mmmmm. Interesting about the matching ones, I like the idea of that

I suppose I'll just have to wait and see...

My DS was born with what looked like a little grey mark on his ankle, that has turned into quite a big mole, another started 'growing' when he was about 3 months. He is 22 months now and every now and again a new one is spotted! I have quite a lot though.

Should add I was a bit alarmed at the first one but I had a few people look at it and they instantly say 'that's fine'.
