Deep sigh, have battled with dd over the last few weeks everytime we go out as she refuses to put a coat on unless I force it on her (which results in mass screaming) Have kind of given up now and think eventually she will realise she is cold and that maybe a coat is a good idea? What do you all think?! Xx

Ds is still like this. I aso choose my battles and let him freeze, although the coat is usually on the pushchair as I know he'll change his mind.

He aso refuses to wear his school sweater, he wore it for the 1st time on the last day of term - I didn't recognise him!

I think some children are more immune to the cold than others though

I think this family have the same problem with their two year old - cute though!

I would use the distraction techniques etc as outlined by previous posters, but when all else failed I have been known to stuff arms into sleeves and endure the tantrum. Helps if you can do it without losing your own temper. And in my defence, I did spend part of the winter in Scandinavia where a child could actually do themselves a serious injury by going out without winter clothing (Scandinavian parents-those gentle liberal non-smacking things- therefore have no option but stuffing).

Have you tried a sleeveless jacket? it is the only thing my 2.5 year old will wear.

Yeah have got a body warmer coat thingy but she still won't wear it so am trying to be cool and of the 'ok if you want to be cold that is fine' persuation although it still bugs me esp when every other child I see has lovely warm coat on and hat and mittens!
