My DD is almost 3. She has always been energetic but not wild in her play. Since the arrival of her brother 8 weeks ago she is getting progressively worse. Tantrums numerous times a day. Throwing toys. Weeing all over the floor when previously dry. Shouting and generally being a nightmare. I realise this is normal to some extent due to new baby. However she is getting worse. I have tried ignoring her tantrums. However she just gets more manic which causes the baby to wake up and start crying which in turn upsets her even more. Any tips as I am at the end of my tether and am starting to dislike her.

I'm sure she will settle . Has anything else to her routine changed ?
I had similar probs with my DD @ 2.5 esp when feeding her brother... so my feeding tip is to have a bag of goodies that she only gets when behaving whilst you feed baby. (her fav snack, new book so you could sit together & read, stickers, new DVD etc)
best wishes

Nothing else has changed except that she used to go to her grandparents on one of the days that I was working. Thought I should have her home whilst on mat leave.

I think it is pretty normal my ds was 2.6 when his ds was born and he turned into the devil. It gets easier as they get older but now she is coming up to 2 she is getting her own back on him. I know how upsetting it is I cried alot and at the time thought I had made a big mistake. Maybe it is still worth her going to grannies for the day.
