The little boy I childmind is 2.5 years

He has huge vocab, have been able to have long conversations with him for months.

sings every single nursery rhyme I can think of, word perfect

can spell his name XXX

remembers driving routes ie comments if we drive a different way to somewhere

remembers where he saw a fire engine parked several months ago.

Is he bright or just like most other 2.5 year old child?

Ds was and still is very much like that. Could sing nursery rhymes word perfect and in tune at 2 years old, can talk for England, knows routes, etc.

Never thought of him as a genius or exceptionally bright - don't want him to be. Would rather he were an 'all-rounder'

His parents are not pushy parents at all

They are sooooooo laid back almost horizontal

I asked the question because I thought he was bright but not really seeing him with other 2 year olds wasn't sure if my memory was playing up Regards milestones etc.

I think he is tremendous fun to have round here

He is a lovely little boy as well.

dd is 2.5 and could do all these things rtk but cannot spell her name so after reading through thread went into her room and wrote her name on her colouring book and asked her what it said (just wrote her forename) - she lokked at it and said her full name; forename, middle name and surname, but I am totally shocked that she knew it was her name!!

Popsycal my dh and I also sit and talk about what dd is good at and we felt that Language, cognitive, social and emotional development were great but when we saw other children her age jumping she was not as strong so Santa brought her a trampoline for christmas and now she is hitting the roof ........
