I was intending to Annabel Karmel-ise ds, but he has other ideas.

Not that I had anything against BLW (ok apart from being nervous about the gagging thing), but I just felt too tired to learn new tricks, having used purees with dd.

So ds is now nearly 7 months and seems to hate the whole concept of being fed purees. I only ever get about 2 mouthfuls into him before he gets really upset and refuses to eat. In the last week I've started finger food and he gets really absorbed and has started to eat it.

Have read up about BLW but still looking for ideas on what to serve - and especially what to give for breakfast - I just can't get over the idea that I can't give porridge!

why can't you give porridge??

I did - just make it with slightly less milk and when it's cool enough to eat, it will be solid enough for them to pick up using their hands but not so solid that it's horrid. My DD has always has her porridge this way

DD2 eats even quite runny porridge with her fingers. Just grabs handfuls and sticks it it.

Its messy but obviously very satisfying.
