6 Year old struggling with Year 2 Bribed with toys to do the work

I really don't get it and my mind is just whirring right now. DS1 is struggling, he did struggle in reception with fine motor skills and the teacher really helped with this, doing exercises daily etc and over the summer and into year 1 we did this at home with him too and saw improvements then the emotional dysregulation stuff started saying no to demands I don't want to stomping his feet needing to wear ear defenders -he wasn't doing any if this at home by the way so was all a shock. So now he has senco involved and all these Interventions
We are awaiting OT assessments and joint asd/ADHD on right to choose pathway after many school meetings.
But since he's started year 2 behaviour has declined. I don't know whether he copies other children, there are quite a few in his class with needs and disruptive angry shouting hitting ( he doesn't do any of this).
No worries at all academically teachers have said but the behaviour and now complaining of his hand hurting so the teacher has started writing for him! And he does the work for example maths mentally. I don't think this is helping him. His work is rushed and messy colouring/writing as he knows it'll be reward time as no complaints at home of his hand hurting. I'm totally baffled what to do here or just move him out of that class?
It seems they just use toys and play to get him to do the work which he retains understands but does such a bad job knowing he can play. I dont know what to do.

To add we are all unsure of his needs, we suspect autism potentially - he's always copied other children. And unfortunately since we moved his preschool he was exposed to a lot of children with Sen who he copied with odd food aversions that he had picked up and everyone then assumed he had sen needs.and it's continued throughout his schooling getting progressively worse
He doesn't want to engage in anything at all and school just seem to bribe with toys to get him to do anything which he now relies on.
In year 1 we have plenty of his workbooks, all his own handwriting and work- to year 2 the teacher is doing it for him! I don't agree with it but they just said its the understanding they are looking at and ability when assessing spellings and maths for example not the actual being able to do it as they know he can do it. Our fear is he relies on all this support so gives up writing altogether.

If you’re unsure of his needs has he had, or is waiting for an EHC Needs Assessment and how does he fair on this simple progress checker?

I think it’s fairly normal
for a ND DC’s behaviour to deteriorate as there are more demands placed on them at School. He’s also getting to an age where the differences with his peers will be becoming much more apparent.

From what you’ve said it doesn’t sound as simple as copying to me.

EHC needs assessments

An EHC needs assessment is an assessment of a child or young person’s education, health and care needs
