My daughter isn’t bothered when I tell her off

My daughter is 6. She is fine mostly, but like flick of a switch, if something like struggling to read a word, not being able to draw something. She throws things, hits me, throws things at me. Shes thrown her tablet, large dolls at me, shoes and hits me hard.

I’ve taken her tablet, she doesn’t care, I’ve put her in her room and she won’t stay in it and I put her back and she thinks it’s funny and a game.
I don’t know what to do. I’m not gonna lie I’m not good at discipline and it upsets me to upset her. But this is now escalating. I’ve met with school. She doesn’t behave like that with them toward anyone. It’s just me. Her dad and I are separated and she doesn’t behave this way with him either. It’s just me.

bit of background: her dad was abusive, verbally and physically tho didn’t hit me just threw and smashed stuff. I threw him out when she was just two literally a month after her 2nd birthday.
since then we have had a terrible relationship and last summer he apparently came over to apologise for saying he had disowned her ( cos of maintenance - she was not a party to this) this resulted in him banging on the windows and doors, kicking the front door and shouting that she was dead to him. We were in the house, police were called and this lead to him not seeing her for a number of months and we went to court and also had a non mol for 12 months.

ive had to battle to get her support at school.

I’m so sorry that you’re both going through this OP. She sound traumatised. Can I ask what support she’s getting in School? Flowers

One thing you could try is the book 10 days to a less defiant child. I’m. Lt sure though if this works your DD is acting this way through trauma, rather than ND.

Another thing that might be worth doing is this progress checker from Speech & Language UK. Let us know if it says that she needs some support Flowers
