Twin 3 year olds still don’t sleep through and it’s time to ditch the dummy

My twins turn three mid October and we need to ditch the dummy, they both have their own bounce beds and bedrooms with night lights, white noise, teddys & two muslins each as comforters. Dentist has said it’s time to ditch the dummy’s but they still wake at least once a night and don’t resettle unless we cuddle with them and they have all of their comforters.

We dropped the nap around three months ago as bedtimes were pushing 9pm and now they go to sleep nicely around 7:15pm with all of the above after reading a story or two. They’ve always been early wakers between 5-6:30am but have consistently woke in the night throughout. We’ve tried various gentle sleep trainers and nothing has ever worked.

We both work full time and we’re already tired so dreading how much worse this will be in a few weeks with no dummy.

HELP🫣

Do they both have a drink on a non-spill cup that they can reach @twinmum1910? I found that this really helped with them settling back down Flowers

Yes, both have water in Tommee tippee cups next to their bed but rarely ever drink in the night. They both sleep through if we are with them in the bed but that’s not great for our marriage. Even then they still reach for their dummy’sConfused

It’s a shame that isn’t working. Don’t worry though, I have plenty of tips Smile

Another thing to try is sleeping with their sheets in your bed bedfore you put them on their bed. This gives their sheets the nice, reassuring smell of you and encourages sleep.

Have you tried posting in the Multiples Section too to get some specific advice on Twins? Smile
