Has anyone had a child that’s been diagnosed with prada willi syndrome when they are older? I have an appointment With the docs in 2 weeks time about my child and just wondering will they/can they test for it? I’m aware I may be clutching at straws however I feel my child ticks a few boxes for this - they have an absolutely huge appetite to the point where if we refuse the tantrum/meltdowns are absolutely huge! They will eat and eat if we let them - anyone had similar and can offer any other info or advice? What other symptoms was there or is the food one the only one?

How old is your child? Overeating is by no means the only symptom, but in babies it’s the opposite - poor feeding. Poor muscle tone and intellectual impairment are also symptoms.

The only person I’ve ever met with this syndrome would try and eat his shoes if there was no food available. Does the hunger ever switch off and does he try and eat other things that people wouldn’t normally class as food?

Does your DS have they typical facial traits associated with the syndrome?
