When did you first realise your child might be autistic?

I’ve been wondering whether some of my child’s behaviours could be related to autism, but I honestly don’t know if I’m overthinking things.
There are a few things I’ve noticed, particularly around sensory issues, social situations and how they cope with changes, but they can also have perfectly happy, “typical” days.
For those whose children were eventually diagnosed, what were the things that first made you think something was different? Did you seek an assessment straight away or wait and see how things developed?

It was the lack of babbling and later talking. Very quiet baby. Then the food fussiness started.
