My DS is nearly 3yo and is still happy in his cot - has never tried to climb out.
I was considering moving DS into a bed at 3yo to pass the cot on to the baby, who is approaching six months and starting to outgrow his bassinet. But as he’s still happy, I wonder if I should keep him contained as long as possible 😬
Right now he wakes around 5.30/6am and plays happily in his cot with his teddies, talking and singing to himself, until we go to get him up at 7 am.
I worry that if we move him into a bed, he’ll start getting up and roaming around the house (or trying to get out of this room if we put a staircase on his door) which would make the mornings very difficult when we’re trying to get ready for work (or when I’m still sleeping/trying to shower before the baby wakes).
So considering whether it would be worth it to buy a second cot in the hope that it might last another year.
Anyone tried this?
