Argh DS and chewing/putting things in his mouth

I will start this off by saying my son is 10. He has limited understanding of danger/consequences e.g. running out in front of cars, wraps things round his neck, etc. Diagnosed with ADHD and on SEN pathway with further assessments booked for cognition etc.

Its getting better but we are now in a phase of putting things in his mouth. Chewing. Small things. Large things. I've just gone up to check on him in bed and had to retrieve small pieces of lego from his inside his mouth 😭
I'm sure its a regulating thing but short of removing anything that is a choking risk from his bedroom does anyone have any idea WTF is going on and have any tips?
I'm honestly considering buying a teething ring but he will absolutely associate that with babies 🤦‍♀️

That must be so worrying. Do you think that he would accept some Chewellery?
