How can I help my four year old stop sucking his thumb?

How do I help my 4 year old to stop sucking his thumb?

He’s been a resolute thumb sucker since birth (and I wasn’t complaining as he’s been a brilliant sleeper I think as a result). I’ve been repeatedly told by people that he’d stop if his own accord but he shows no signs and I’m really keen to try and do something about it especially as he starts school in September.

Can anyone tell me what’s worked for them?

Same. I like that my DS has it. He started school last year and he never sucks his thumb in school, just at home. I don’t have an issue with it
